Sectors
Every sector has its own logistics dynamics and requirements. Yet the underlying challenges are often the same: multiple systems, fragmented data and incomplete management information. The result is all too familiar: discrepancies are not managed effectively, complexity increases rather than decreases, costs rise due to a lack of control, and the customer experience comes under pressure.
Because no two supply chains are exactly the same, we have tailored our approach and solutions to six specific sectors. Curious to see which sectors we specialise in? Take a look below!
Industrial Manufacturing
Logistics determines whether your keep production on schedule and your customers satisfied. Yet many manufacturing companies lack control. Here are three signs that there’s room for improvement.
-
Rising transport costs, limited control. Unmanaged Ex Works shipments and supplier bookings drive up costs.
-
Fragmented data, complex shipments. Multiple systems and ad-hoc solutions make logistics harder to manage.
-
More compliance, more pressure. Export documentation and CO₂ reporting take time, while delays increase risks.
CargowatchShipper is the management platform for manufacturing companies that want to manage their transport operations professionally. From a single centralised environment, you can manage all your shipments, costs, carriers and data, regardless of transport mode or complexity. No separate portals. No manual searching.
Agriculture, Food & Biotechnology
Fresh, critical and time-sensitive. In your sector, logistics is the difference between fresh and wasted, profit and loss. Your products are critical. Why shouldn’t your logistics operation be too?
Whether it’s fresh produce, temperature-controlled shipments, pharmaceutical consignments or laboratory materials: you can see in real time where your consignment is, what its status is and where risks may arise. Proactive alerts allow you to take immediate action, well before quality or delivery is compromised.
High-tech Manufacturing
In this industry, production processes rely on precision. Logistics should too. The question isn’t whether you produce well. The question is: do you really have control over your transport flows?
Sensitive equipment, time-critical deliveries, project cargo or specific delivery times: in the high-tech industry, complex shipments are no exception — they are an everyday reality. Cargowatch is designed to handle this complexity. Even the most critical shipments are fully monitored, documented and managed from a single platform. So complexity no longer means losing control.
Consumer Goods & Lifestyle
Your brand is all about the experience, and timing is everything. The logistics behind that experience must be just as reliable as the brand itself. The question is: why should your logistics still feel like a risk?
Growth doesn’t have to mean chaos. Black Friday. A new collection. The summer peak. Or even Singles’ Day. Cargowatch gives you the flexibility you need through multi-carrier and multi-modal options. Need extra capacity? An alternative is ready and waiting. Delays? You have immediate insight and can take action straight away. That way, you’re always in control.
Wholesale & Distribution
Ad hoc solutions and endless email exchanges take up time you don’t have. With Cargowatch, you know what’s going on before it affects your operations. The question isn’t whether your logistics work. The question is: do you take action before things go wrong?
In wholesale and distribution, margins are tight and every surcharge counts. Cargowatch gives you a complete overview of your transport expenditure: transparent rate comparisons across carriers, immediate insight into discrepancies and surcharges, and structural analyses of urgent shipment patterns. No surprises afterwards, just control beforehand.
Transport & Logistics
Tight margins, capacity constraints and increasingly demanding customers. The question isn’t whether you’re providing a good transport service. The question is: how much control do you have over your external network?
Delays are inevitable. The impact depends on how quickly you spot them and take action. With automatic alerts and real-time monitoring, you can identify anomalies straight away, proactively inform your customers and prevent situations from escalating. Fewer escalations mean greater control.
Frequently asked questions
We monitor performance on an ongoing basis. If we see that a carrier is consistently underperforming, Cargowatch will engage in dialogue with them. If necessary, it’s also possible to switch to another provider within the network.
Do not worry. Depending on the situation, we’ll draw up a new framework contract with the chosen carrier or find a bespoke solution so that the carrier can still be accessed via the platform.
We offer a hybrid solution. This means that the shipper always has the option to continue using existing agreements. These contracts can be uploaded to CargowatchShipper, which means they are included in the options displayed. The shipper remains the account holder, meaning the carrier’s invoice is always issued in the shipper’s name. Cargowatch can also provide the full range of services for these shipments, for which we charge a 10 per cent administration fee on the transport costs. This ensures the shipper experiences no difference in the service provided.
We take full responsibility for managing the carrier relationship, including exception and performance management, via our customer service team. The shipper has access to the CargowatchPortal and can view the status of each consignment and track the actions Cargowatch is taking to resolve any issues.
We have structured our processes so that our staff can easily take over tasks from one another. All our customer service staff have access to the same resources and are fully capable of supporting you as a shipper. Therefore, there is no need for a dedicated contact person, and we guarantee the continuity of processes – even if someone is unexpectedly unavailable.
Greater flexibility (always the best option for each consignment), less reliance on a single carrier, a stronger negotiating position on rates, and greater continuity in the event of disruptions affecting one party.
A monthly fee is charged to set up CargowatchShipper and keep it up to date. Carriers apply all sorts of surcharges that change periodically and need to be updated in CargowatchShipper, so that the shipper always has up-to-date information at their disposal on which to base their decisions.
